Correlation versus Causation
When two or more variables have statistical relationship between them, it is referred to the term "correlation". On the other hand, the causation happens when one variable produces a change in another variable. The term "correlation does not indicate causality" is very popular among researchers and widely used while doing research. Although causality and correlation are linked concepts, recognizing their distinctions can help you critically comprehend and analyze scientific data (O’Connor & Price, 2018).
The relationship between two variables: as one changes, the other changes as well is known as correlation. However, indirect or direct relationship is not associated with this condition. There is a cause-and-effect relationship indicates that changes in one variable produce changes in the other when it comes to causation. A correlation is a statistical indication of the connection between variables (Rohrer, 2018).
