xRationale
The purpose of this item is to assess the student’s ability to produce a thorough, clear, accurate and concise literature review on the topic of choice.  This is a typical task allocated to new graduates in the workplace, working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Task

Each student is required to identify and critically analyse recent literature e.g. articles, policy papers, data, etc. relevant to the issue being explored in their planning group and identify service gaps or knowledge gaps to make recommendations for change.

Assignments must argue logically to these recommendations. Recommendations are used to determine suitable objectives in the strategic planning section of the final report.  It will also give ideas for strategies to be included in the final group report.

Once corrected the individual reports are put onto the group web site. Students can then all access the work to prepare their own sections of the Review Paper in the correct format.

A minimum of ten recent and relevant references must be included and properly referenced. Succinct expression is required. Consultation findings should be included.

If agreed format is not used papers must be resubmitted. Group members must follow the agreed format when writing any summaries and assignments.

Criteria

Students will be assessed on the following:
•    Use of Report Format
•    In-text referencing and footnoted references
•    Academic writing style
•    Evidence of wide and relevant reading from reliable sources
•    Appropriate use and tabulation of data
•    Creative use of graphics or illustrations
