You are required to complete a written assignment of 2,500 – 3,000 words. The assignment is based on your evaluation of significant features of two published qualitative studies that are connected to a piece of research you are/might/could be planning to conduct. You are asked to set out the lessons you have drawn from these studies and the ways they may influence the design of your own piece of research. You should: 1. Identify and briefly describe the focus of a potential qualitative research studythe study may be one that you are planning to undertake but does not have to be. 2. Identify two previous qualitative research studies relating to the research study you have set out (see note below) 3. Explain what you have learnt from the methodological approach adopted by these research studies. 4. Explain how this impacts upon the design of your own research study. In doing this you should address issues such as: a. Choice of research methods b. Access c. Ethics d. Conduct of fieldwork e. Data analysis f. Dissemination g. Stakeholder concerns Note: The assignment should focus principally on your use of the two studies to explore research design issues, such as those listed above.
