Case Study - Complete the following case study #1 on project management

Managerial Report …

Develop a report that presents the activity schedule and expected project completion time for the warehouse expansion project. Include a project network in the report. In addition, take into consideration the following issue.

1.
R.C. Coleman’s top management established a required 40-week completion time for the project. Can this completion time be achieved? Include probability information in your discussion What recommendations do you have if the 40-week completion time is required?

2.
Suppose that management requests that activity times be shortened to provide an 80 percent chance of meeting the 40-week completion time. If the variance in the project completion time is the same as you found in part (1), how much should the expected project completion time be shortened to achieve a goal of an 80 percent chance of completion in 40 weeks?

3.
Enrichment Using the expected activity times as the normal times and the following crashing information, determine the activity crashing decisions and revised activity schedule for the warehouse expansion project.

Your case study comprises these additional requirements below be completed too:

Prepare a network diagram and table showing activity times use, event early start, early finish, late start, late finish and event slack.

Determine the critical path

Project duration ... is it completed in the desired 40 weeks?

Determine the probability that the project can be completed in the desired 40 weeks.

How much should the expected project completion time be shortened to achieve a goal of an 80 percent chance of completion in 40 weeks?

Create your report in MS Word. Below, is a good general structure for ALL the case studies that you need to apply to your case study report submissions.

Analysis of
Completion Time
The primary aspect of approaching the above problem is to get a viable understanding about the processes that are required in terms of the project and how the variables within the project depend on each other.  It is relevant to interpret the immediate predecessors in the terms of understanding how each variable and process needs to be interconnected by providing prospects of the visual charts and representing those in the form of task dependencies throughout the project.  This will also require the expansion of the actions that need to be inculcated in the entire project management processes in order to sustain the goals of the project.
In the entire analysis the expected time for each activity that is relevant in the production phenomenon depends on the variances which are calculated by using the formula that takes into account the optimistic aspect, probability aspect and the pessimistic aspect of each activity.

Considering the data that has been presented in the given scenario can be used to calculate the expected time and the variances of each activity accordingly. This can be aggravated with a new table.

From the above calculation it is clear to calculate the expected time on the basis of expected week values that determine the values that need to be considered for a more distinct and improved generated flowchart.
The first instant is effective by starting with the “Earliest Start” and “Earliest Finish” For each of the activities which needs to be taken into account for all the activities.  After the calculation it was found that the entire process requires 43 weeks.
Using the data that has been obtained from the calculation it is affected to determine the earliest and the latest finish along with the slack and the critical activity.
