A new initiative has just been rolled out int he transitional Care Services at your hospital. As the coordinator of this department, you have been tasked to oversee  the roll out and implementation of the use of electronic documentation of patient information during home visits. This initiative will allow seamless electronic access to inpatient and outpatient medical records as well as cut down the current practise of electronic entry of mamually documented medical records for data collection.
Senior staff nurse Edna who is the department lead and trainer for documentation, opposes the use of the electronic devices and documents. She complains that the electroni forms are difficult to read and not user-friendly. She claims that electronic documentation will take longer time to complete with this new evice than manual documentation. She threatens to quit her job if she has to use the new system to document patient care.
