The major sociological theory and policy
explained by Alice Goffman through the school-to-prison pipeline is the zero-tolerance policies. The Gun-Free Schools Act of 1994 introduced the zero- tolerance policies when the public schools were asked to follow this policy. This gives the most severe and possible punishment to anyone who breaks a rule (or) commits a crime. In the school-to-prison pipeline, the expulsion, suspension of the kids (or) charging them with crimes done in school can lead to disproportionate change among the school children. The matters that could be solved in a Principal’s chamber are to be solved there itself rather than dragging them out.
