Personal reflection
Colon cancer is a type of malignant tumor that occurs in digestive tract. It is a CRC, wasting dise
ase whose treatment may weaken the immunity of an individual towards the respiratory bacteria making one more susceptible to virus infection. Being diagnosed with first stage colon cancer last week and since then I am hospitalized here. From last 15 days, several tests and scans are being done on me to diagnose the disease. I had severe stomachache, nausea and indigestion problem along with rectal bleeding. There was persistent discomfort and severe pains lead me to hospital. With thorough tests and retests, I was confirmed to have colon cancer at stage 1. It is confined to colon lining as of now and has not penetrated the walls of abdomen to infect the other areas. As it is confined to a particular site so a surgery is being suggested by the doctor to cure it. But in the pandemic, undergoing surgery may be disastrous and thus I am kept on oral and IV medications as of now for further few days before operating me to cure this disease.
