“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” ~Malcolm X

Hi everyone.

My name is Charity Renfroe. I started my journey at Ashford University in 2016 and believe it or not I have been in school every since. I earned my bachelors degree in Organizational Management and my master’s degree in Organizational Management with a specialization in Organizational Leadership from this prestigious university. After receiving a call from an Ashford enrollment coach, I decided to further my education. Presently, I am pursuing a doctorate degree in Organizational Development with a specialization in Leadership. Growing up, my father always called me Dr. Renfroe, so I guess it is safe to say he spoke this into existence.

For my dissertation I plan on researching workplace bullying. However, I am still debating which area I will focus on exactly. This topic is worth researching since this despicable behavior occurs in workplaces everyday all over the world.

Currently, I am a licensed cosmetologist and have experience in managing and operating a salon. I also have experience in volunteering at high schools and teaching cosmetology students how to do specific hair services. I also take time out to speak to cosmetology students about my past experiences as a cosmetologist and encourage them how important their education is. Next, I plan on becoming an online college professor since education has always been essential to me.

I am from Tuskegee, Alabama (Central Time Zone).

Have a great day!

Find yourself in the service of others-

Mahatma Gandhi

No matter what level you are or aspiring to be-the best thing that you can give to others is your knowledge. Finding a way to provide service to others has been my career! I have a passion for wanting to help others in achieving their best but also helping that customer find that lost package, explaining in detail their credit card statement, why there credit card is not accepting their payment, or I forgot my online password, can you help me? or hearing a parent explain why their 2 year old woke up to a blue face (you will have to asked me about that one)! Helping others exceed in their position, to move onto to a long-fulfilled career is another example of success in my world.

From starting out as a customer service representative to being promoted throughout my career, I have taken the approach of how I would want to be treated when the other end of the phone is answered, to working with my peers, and those reporting to me! My current role is working as a Customer Service Manager at the Cincinnati Insurance Company. I have 2 supervisors and 20 CSR’s reporting to me but have up to 150 employees reporting to me at one time in my previous job. We currently support all policy holders in making payments to all the needed online support, with added new responsibilities all the time.

Although my career has been in Customer Service, as a manager, I have been responsible for many high-profile projects, to bring the Customer Service perspective to the team. Hiring new employees or promoting existing ones. Being a support system to all employees that have crossed my path in way or another.

A few of my biggest takeaways has been the ability to help create or build from the foundation new Customer Service teams, that will be continuing as Gandhi said, “find yourself in the service of others”.

The current path that I am looking at for my general area of research would be: How does addiction affect the workplace. I feel that this is having an impact on so many different levels of business in the world today and find that to be a very large area of study that may have taken a forefront for many employers.

Hi Charity,
I personally feel that incase of researching workplace bullying you need to focus on the part where the employees, especially the superior have been suppressing the subordinates for their own level of interests. This part can help you in reaching a successful write-up. I personally think that for working in organizations nowadays bullying is something, which needs to be avoided. It is contended that you have thought about it (Hoel, Cooper & Einarsen, 2020).
The Salon, which has been planned to be open by you, is mandatory and crucial in the present days, as...
