Biographical Statement



Course Description:This course explores Human Resource Management theories and tools needed to implement an effective change process within the organization. Course topics will include the aspects of change, the resistance to change, team development, reorganization and downsizing, and the changing nature of the workplace. Students explore key theories that are applied through practice and analysis concerning workplace changes and the associated effects on employees and the organization.

Introduction
Change management is a need-based model, which is mainly practiced in public enterprises or at large corporates. The reasons for change management are corporate culture, adoption of new technology such as implementation of performance appraisal system, shifting to SAP platform, integration of business process as a global strategy, framing strategies for expansion and diversification, due to which need of creating global teams have emerged.
It involves HR at the central role to ensure smooth transition through the process. Various aspects of change management such as preparing leadership, training employees, conflict management, rewards and recognition need to be taken care of with utmost resilience.
Thesis Statement
Change management is a process, which affects every part of the organization.
Explanation:
The synchronization is required between all departments and business processes in order to ensure the effectiveness of change management. The silo departments are converted into cross-functional zones so that multi-functional teams can be created as per project requirements (Baran, Filipkowski & Stockwell, 2019).
It also helps in learning while sharing experiences and supporting each other. The report will deal with extended discussion on the thesis statement on various themes so that supportive arguments can be developed for the same. It will be followed with recommendations and conclusion for the study.
Impact of Change on Organization
i. Communication:
The vision of the company will be re-focused by sharing the benefits of the transition with the employees and stakeholders of the company. This will help in building the trust in the capabilities of the management. The communication will involve answering of the following questions, which are expected to raise by employees and stakeholders.
· What will be the tangibles results?
· How the operational efficiency of the organization will be affected?
· How it will shape the employees experience?
· How it is going to benefit the stakeholders?
· How the success will be measured?
These will help to ensure the two-way communication and remove the void of rumors from the channel.
ii. Increased Productivity:
Change process is implemented to remove the stagnation and address the competition. It will be helpful in increasing the productivity by re-designing the future path and strategies so that growth trajectory can be moved to upward direction. Employee performances will be evaluated on newly suggested parameters to understand the training needs. Furthermore, the organizational structure will be modified to explore new channels for the flow of information (Katsaros, Tsirikas & Kosta, 2020).
iii. Change in Processes:
It will help in improving business processes by removing practices, which no longer serve the purpose. It will increase the focus on the relevant areas and involve the departmental efforts to reap the results to the maximum. Teams will be encouraged to tap new opportunities, which have potential for growth such as exploring new markets, targeting new customers, developing researched and innovative products, initiating design thinking and bringing new ideas to the table for further brainstorming.
Impact of Change on Employees
i. Positive Impact
Fresh outlook to deal with problems: Employees get a chance to learn new approaches, techniques and processes, which help them to deal with problems in a new way. This gives them quicker and effective measures to find solutions.
Motivated taskforce: They feel motivated by being the part of change. They take initiative and support others to face the transition. It also develops interpersonal relationships, which is good for team engagement and success of projects (Vlados, Deniozos & Chatzinikolaou, 2018).
