This assessment consists of six (6) questions and is designed to assess your level of knowledge of the key topics covered in this unit. Question 1 (7 marks)
As an employer, it's important to identify office safety hazards and create a safe workplace. Sometimes, injuries happen at workplace. Occationaly, the injury is caused by the employer and the employee is threatened by the employer if they have intention to report the case to Work Affair organisation. Is this behaviour of the employer misconduct? In your opinion, what are the possible causes of this behaviour. Students are required to provide some examples to support their discussion.

The employer will be held responsible for this act because it is the sole responsibility of the employer to ensure that the organization has all the requirements for the health and the safety of the employees. The employer must effectively manage the workplace safety and make the workplace safe for the employees such that they do not suffer from any risks in the workplace. The employer should be aware about the condition of the plants and machinery such that they are safe to use and that the materials are stored safely and are handled effectively for the safety and health facilities in the work place. Moreover, the employer has threatened the employees to not to complain about the working conditions to the Work Affairs. The employer has not only failed to keep the working conditions safer, but was responsible for the accidents of the employees. This behavior is surely the misconduct of the employer.
Question 2 (11 marks)
You were selected by your company to take part in a meeting organised by a multinational companies about the impact of the recent global rise in fuel prices. The first presentation was delivered my a male CEO from Argentina, the second presentation was from a German male CEO and the third one was from an Australian female CEO.
a) You noticed that the body language, gestures and facial expressions of these presenters are different. Based on the demographic information provided above, identify the key factors that might cause the differences between them and explain in detail the role of each factor.
ANSWER a):
The differences in the body language, gestures and facial expressions are influenced by the genetic as well as the ethnic factors. The cultural background of the CEOs are particularly varied as they belong to seaparet nations. The ethnicity is also prominent from their physical charecteristics which makes their facial expression different from each other. Cultures of Argentina, Germany & Australia are completely different and subsequently the way in which people coimnmunicate from the different countries are also different. Argentines are more expressive and emotive and they tend to be friendlier attitude. They often interrupt when others are speaking and they are more contextual and passionate while presenting themselves. While Germans are quiet and direct and they are functionally purposed. They speak clearly and concisely to arrive stratight to a point. They are generally polite and avoid any sort of arguments. Australians are precise and they are more apparent when they communicate. These are the significant differences that were observed in their attitudes and physical expression.
b) Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the organisers decide to hold this meeting virtually instead of organizing onsite. In your opinion, what are the factors that will impact the quality of the meeting that organisers should have considered before making this decision? Students are required to provide at least one reference to support their discussion

The quality of the meeting on the virtual platform will be affected due to the viability and the interpersonal contact that the members and the participants will share in the meeting. The virtual meeting will not provide the scope of the members to personally come in contact with the participants hence there will be obvious communication gap among the participants in the meeting.
