Instructions Individual Assignment #2: Purpose: The purpose of the assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of HR and the connection to a real-life situation. For this assignment you will be assigned an HR topic by your professor. You will describe the Human Resources topic, connect your topic to a real-life example and identify two recommendations for the example you outline. It is critical to link in HR concepts throughout your paper.  The Assignment Your assignment should be a maximum of 1000 words in 12-point font using proper APA format. Your eText should be your only source. The following provides an overview of the structure of your paper: Section 1: HR Topic Overview (approx. 400 words) In this section you will use your own words to describe what you have learned from the HR topic assigned to you. It is critical to integrate HR concepts learned about your topic area and bold all HR concepts explored in this section.  You can reference your textbook using proper in text citations. In this section it is important to demonstrate your understanding about the HR topic assigned to you by reflecting on your thoughts, reactions and perspective on the topic area.   Section 2: Application with Real Life Example (approx. 350 words) In Section 2 you will describe a real-life experience that relates to your HR topic.  This can be your own experience in an organization, or the experience of a family member, friend or colleague. It is important to establish clear connections between your example and your HR topic by connecting in HR concepts into your real-life example.  It is required that you bold the HR concepts so that you can visibly see you are connecting enough concepts into you paper. Section 3: Recommendations (approx. 250 words) In this section identify two recommendations that apply to your example. The recommendations outline strategies you would recommend for the example you shared (this could include improvements, continuing good practices etc). The recommendations should have HR concepts linked in and clearly outlined the connection to our learning. The HR concepts you connect can be from anything learned to date in class and HR concepts must be bolded to demonstrate your learning. Resources: The resources for this assignment are e-text, own experiences and class learning materials (for class learning cite the week and the source). The use of other resources is not acceptable and your assignment will go through Turnitin to check for plagiarism. Labor relations relate to the con
nection between employers and workers. After adopting all of the Wagner Act's labor relations regulations, Canada's labor laws now share many elements with those of the United States. However, Canada has created labor legislation with two unique characteristics. One component that might be applied to American labor laws is the constitutional division of powers between the federal and regional governments. This gives the regions total control over the business associations. Federal legislation also forbids taking into account regional laws. The constitution gives the federal government complete ability to address labor dispute concerns involving a small number of workers in sectors under its purview. Second, the administrative framework of the Canadian legislature is also transferrable. A regional premier interested in changing and a prime minister working under the federal government will be able to pass legislation in this situation. This provides the potential for the implementation of contentious decrees needed to start labor relations changes. The Labor Program's International Labor Affairs section represents the country in international debates on topics like the elimination of child labor and constrained labor, workplace health and safety, labor relations, and employment standards. The Labor Program promotes Canadian interests in international organizations that deal with labor issues, such as the International Labor Association, and negotiates and administers Labor Participation Agreements (LCAs) with Canada's streamlined commerce partners. The LCAs that Canada signs with its unfamiliar exchange partners include investment from the provinces and territories as well. Two intergovernmental agreements have been shaped establishing federal, provincial, and region accountabilities in the implementation of LCAs, which respect the territory's and territories' jurisdictional responsibilities in the space of labor.
