t untreated, it can last a week. When numbers appear, the reader assumes that something important is about to be revealed. Numbers have an extraordinary ability to make us lose our senses. Even a ridiculous sentence like this conveys confidence until the message is understood. Today, we live in a world of Big Data and information, and most of that knowledge is based on math and numbers. Statistics keep us up to date on what is going on in the world surrounding. Statistics gave us inference about the past and can help us predict future. However, statistics can be used to deceive, exaggerate, and confuse. The practice of deceiving people using numbers is known as 'statisticulation’. This study will throw light on how statistics can be used to tell lies.

According to the book “How to Lie with Statistics” by Darrell Huff(Huff, 1954) there are seven ways to tune statistical data as per one’s need. They are discussed below:
The biased sample
“Two-thirds of the population now believes the outcome of Brexit discussions will be negative for Britain, including a majority of Leave voters.” When we see a claim like this, we ask question like:
1. How could they have arrived at such a claim?
2. Is it reasonable to believe that it could have been thoroughly researched?
3. Don't we think it's possible that someone lied if it's been researched?
4. How can you tell if a poll's results are reliable or meaningful?
Samples are the building blocks of statistics and they are incomplete pictures of the whole. How much of the total population? This is the important question. When a sample size is large enough and carefully chosen, it can tell us something.
