Overview
MS SQL Server is a relational database management system that supports different types of transaction processing, analytics application and business intelligence in IT environments. It is developed by Microsoft, built over SQL around a row-based table structure that connects related data to each other while avoiding redundancy of data storage. It maintains data integrity through referential integrity and other integrity constraints. The RDBMS has SQL Server Database Engine as its main component which is responsible for data storage, processing and its security.
Installation
Installation of MS SQL Server on Windows uses three deployment scenarios as Linux, Kubernetes or Docker Containers. Depending on business needs, its edition and version is selected for installation. The download location os SQL server depends on its edition. It can be installed through Installation Wizard GUI from the setup.exe setup media.
