Sofia Chan is an owner of a company that manufactures high-fashion eyewear sold directly to U.S. wholesalers that then distribute these products in stores throughout the country. Her company is in a small mid-western town and employs many residents. Sofia has been considering outsourcing the manufacturing of the lenses for the sunglasses to another country and is evaluating whether she should enter the global marketplace with her products. She is uncertain of the impact this move might have on her organization and her leadership of the organization.
