Impact of COVID-19 on Employee’s Mental Health
Introduction
The covid 19 was introduced as the infectious disease which was caused by the coronavirus. The coronavirus can be defined as the large family of the viruses which can cause illness. They are now transmitted between the animals and humans. It includes fever, shortness of breath, dry cough, tiredness with aches and pains, breathing difficulties, diarrhoea, runny nose and nasal congestion.
The coronavirus was identified in 2019 as the new virus which took outbreak in Wuhan China. It spread at the lightning speed and affected multiple countries. According to the World Health Organization this virus reached 202 countries by Mar
ch 31st, 2020, and there were 33,000 confirmed deaths go to this. There were many countries which were showing leadership and implemented the emergency measures for preventing the spread of infection. People were quarantined and there were travel restrictions and cancelled flights from one end to another and it was having high level of the contamination.
The individuals who were having epidemiological catastrophe were showing anxiety related behaviours. COVID-19 has resulted in tremendous psychological problems, and it has created serious challenges for the mental health services.
The objective of this proposal is to examine the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of employees in the organisation and then evaluate the main interventions in the organization from the perspective human resource management which can be used to mitigate the impact. For this research work we can investigate its impact over the mental health of the individuals. It also includes few studies which were examined for epidemiological catastrophe from the perspective of manager.
Background and rationale
For this task we will examine the basic health outcomes which are psychological stress and the depression. This can be the result of epidemic outbreak or the pen to make. The psychological distress can be used as the symbol for status of mental health. It can be state of emotional suffering of an individual which is accompanied by the multiple symptoms of depression and the anxiety. It can have the somatic symptoms like insomnia.
The psychological distress is related with the set of psychophysiological and behavioural symptoms. These symptoms are distributed over the continuum of time. The depression is amorphous order which is known as psychiatric, and it is characterised with the help of reduced interest and mode, persistent feelings of negative emotions, sadness and the person finds it difficult to cope up with the daily responsibilities. If the individual is not identified with psychological distress, then it can result in the major depression.
The depression can result in severe consequences like the suicide also. The psychological depression and distress are the basic results of continuous or intense stress, which was not managed initially, and it is mainly due to the difficulty of a person to cope up with stressful life events. The current pandemic can be a source of intense stress for the whole world and also the employees who are working in the organization. The employees are already having stress with their regular tasks and the operations, but the pandemic has changed the whole thought process and behaviour of the individual.
The covid 19 pandemic can be related with different types of the stressors which are responsible for draining out mental health of the employee during the pandemic and after it. It is important to have distinct knowledge about the different types of the stressors which can be faced during the coronavirus pandemic. It has affected all the people who are around it. The distress which is felt by an individual is not the problem. It is instead the consequences of this problem. We need to understand the whole scenario so that we can identify the solutions and help the employees for reducing the risk related with mental health.
Research objective
With this paper we will try to examine the impact of coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak on the mental health of the employees specifically about the depression and psychological distress. the aim is to find out the main stressors which are faced by the employees during COVID-19 and posted. We will examine the main moderating factors which are responsible for mitigating and aggravating the impact of COVID-19 on the employees. At last, it discussed about the recommendations for employees from the perspective of human resource management.

There are different levels of isolation policies which were implemented in every country as per the severity of the pandemic and hands it resulted in significant differences in the economic operation of various areas.
