Prepare for a mock negotiation between India and France. The mock negotiation should be in a business setting to negotiate a business deal such as a merger between two companies, trade agreements, purchase agreements, supplier agreements, partnerships, labor unions, etc.


This assignment will be completed in three parts. Please note that you are required to record a video for a portion of this assignment using a free video recording service of your choice (Loom, Zoom, etc.). You are required to prerecord the mock negotiation video and embed the link in the appropriate section of the presentation.


Create a PowerPoint presentation of 12-15 slides, not including the title slide and reference slides. You are required to cite scholarly sources to support your claims in each section. Speaker notes are required in the notes section of the slides. The time limit for the presentation is 15 minutes. Business casual attire is required when presenting. Images may be included in the presentation but be sure to keep all image sizes low for this presentation. Your presentation should address thecriteria provided below.


Assess the countries by addressing the following:



Part 1: Presentation Slides- Set the Stage for the Mock Negotiation



  1. Describe the situation – What business deal is being negotiated?

  2. Describe the tactics that will be used in the negotiation (e.g., location, time, relationships, bargaining behaviors).

  3. Describe the type of negotiation that will be seen in the mock negotiation-distributive or integrative.



Part 2: Conduct a Mock Negotiation


Using a video recording tool, record a 5-minute mock negotiation that demonstrates the following:



  1. Differences in the types of negotiation, negotiation tactics, and bargaining behaviors between the two countries.

  2. How verbal and nonverbal communication differ between the countries during the negotiation.

  3. How cultural, societal, and religious values influence the negotiation between the two countries.



Part 3: Presentation Slides- Provide a Readout of the Mock Negotiation



  1. Explain the differences in the types of negotiation, negotiation tactics, and bargaining behaviors between the two countries.

  2. Explain how verbal and nonverbal communication differ between the countries during the negotiation.

  3. Explain how cultural, societal, and religious values influence the negotiation between the two countries.

  4. Explain what leadership competencies and characteristics you would need for a successful negotiation.
