The steps and practices in development of policy:
1) Identify the need: When the need is anticipated or in response to a need a strategy is created it is called identification of the issue or need (Ashton,
Star, Lawrence, & Coveney, 2021).
2) Responsibility: It is necessary to identify who will be given the responsibility to frame the policy or locate the person, group of people, staff members who gave expertise.
3) Gather information: The information can be any existing laws, any company or part of society facing the issue, is the understanding about the need or issue is up to date, are there any examples which can be use as reference or what type of guidance can be given in the public.
4) Drafting Policy: It should cover the areas and provisions for which the expectation from it exists.
5) Consultation with stakeholders: If support of stakeholders is achieved it will help in bringing the potential implications of the policy to the surface. This is required because they re going to benefit from it and they can likely to identify the gaps.
6) Approve policy: The policy is approved in the house when government debates on the benefit and drawbacks of the policy (Ashton, Star, Lawrence, & Coveney, 2021).
7) Need of procedures: It is required to understand that is there any supporting or internal policy is needed as guidance for implementation.
8) Implement: The policy framed is implemented by issuing public notification.
9) Monitor, review and revise: Through placed reporting systems the performance of the policy is monitored and necessary revisions are done to remove the flaws.

In Australia the policy development cycle is inspired by of the many policy-making models. This model was developed by Peter Bridgman, Catherine Althaus and Glyn Davis to explain the different stages of public policy process. The policy development cycle is a representation of the government perception who works with different interest groups and experts and the various public domains (Howard, 2019).
· Identification of issues: Before beginning the issue is identofied on which the policy has to be framed.
· Analysis of policies: The current policies if existing on the issue are analysed and its shortcomings are listed.
· Use of instruments: The available instruments which are of political nature are used.
· Counsultation: With leading industry groups, experts and advocates of policy are consulted.
· Coordination: The various departments who will be involved are coordinated.
· Decision-making: Final decision is taken for rejection or apporval of the policy as lobbying and public pressure are critical factors for the same.
· Implementation: The implementatio is a challenge because dealing with resistance is crucial.
· Evaluation: The whole procedure and performance of policy is evaluated to check with the loop-holes and work on it to increase the effectiveness of the same.

The policy which directly impacts the work area of my choice are ethical code of conduct, workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination and diversity and inclusion policy. The ethical code of conduct helps the professionals to take decision during dilemma where there is a need to choose between ethics and selfish means.
The WHS policy helps to remain safe and takes care of the safety at individual level. Only when we are health and safe we will able to extend our helping to others. Anti-discrimination policies make workplace a better place as being a accountant it guides me to give equal opportunities to the team members I am working with. Through diversity and inclusivity policies we as employees of the organization are tolerant towards the differences of culture, race, ethnicity, language, religion. We respect them and prefer to learn from each other experiences.
