Introduction
The Human Resource Management (HRM) within an organisation is the managerial procedure of a group of individuals that is responsible
for the effective management and functioning of other workers of the organisation. This is necessary in order to attain profit and achieve business targets. HRM is responsible for the hiring of employee, training and development, overseeing their benefits, appraisals and reward management of the employee.
The Brief Overview and Significance of HRM
The above statement can be justified by observing the functioning of HRM since, the major function is to ensure that the organisation is able to achieve success and is functioning in an ordered manner therefore, HRM revolves around the policy of achieving success through people. Due to this only, HRM revolves around every functioning that deals with the working of the employee within the organisation. As mentioned by Paauwe and Boon (2018), HRM is the only tool that can bring about the needed change within an organisation
Since an organisation works and proceeds with the performance of the employees only and they are in return, being sustained by HRM; therefore, the HRM needs to be effective in accordance to the AHRI model of excellence, which graphically explains what is the functioning of HR, how they should works and what are the expectations from the owners or the peers (AHRI, 2019). However, in 21st century market’s dynamic and ever changing nature has made HRM very difficult and has presented certain set challenges in front of the HRM, which cannot be overlooked by the team. Challenges include compliance with the ever-changing rules and laws, retaining the potential employee, maintaining an unbiased and no discriminated work place diversity.
Three Areas of Challenge where Effective HRM Policies are required
Preparing workforce in accordance with dynamic laws and regulations- Political parties and government are ever changing and with them changes some of laws and regulations also.
