This week your assignment is Part 1 of the project.For this step you willwrite an appropriate email messageto your supervisor (an upward communication example of an audience-centered message) introducing the reason for the project and outlining three challenges you identified and three recommendations you will present in your PPT presentation (due next week). Remember, you can select a hypothetical company or use your actual place of employment. The main aspect of the assignment is to come up with THREE communication challenges and THREE solutions that you have witnessed at your job (or hypothetically witnessed in a pretend company).



Your email message must be written using professional language and should include ALL of the following elements:



  • An appropriate salutation (e.g., title designation of the receiver).

  • A clear purpose of the project that focuses on the information needs of the receiver.


  • Three identified challenges(based on the readings from your readings this week).


  • Three recommendations(one for each) to overcome these challenges.

  • An appropriate signature line (e.g., your title in the company).

  • Strong professional language with no writing or grammatical errors.

I am writing in to you with an intention to highlight three communication challenges that we are facing recently. Here, I would like to draw you attention to challenges that are hampering effective communication in the team. The first would be the lack of communication when assigning work to the team members. I believe that our employees are dissatisfied and don’t feel motivated. All the job-related information is passed down and they feel a lack of participation. Their views and suggestions while making decisions are not welcomed and thus, their overall performance has declined. There is no direct platform where they can present their views and give suggestions. Thus, there is lack of team spirit due to unclear closed communication lined in delegation of work.
