The current trimester, after the completion of which, the reflective account is written had been a revealing and challenging course of education, leading to vast kno
wledge catering on the various aspects and in depth dynamics of business communication. Although the subject focus of the reflection had been pre-determined, the trimester revealed a great deal about the intercommunication between academic learning and real life application of workplace learning needs. Throughout trimester, the perceptions of the peers, the lecturers and self-realisation helped in knowledge and perspective development and gradual refinement of the perceptions, which generated more confidence in career goals achieving.
In the course of the trimester, I learnt that communication in business the tool that pastes the organisational individuals to a collective whole, forming the coalition much needed for business operations. As the trimester reached its completion, I gathered information about the intercultural and interpersonal communication types that remain functional within business organisations. The knowledge of intercultural and interpersonal communication was very different from my previous perception of business communication, which was limited to employee and their coordination with the management. The trimester made me aware about the different modes of communication, especially their way of effective business, was something that I learnt afresh. The types of business communications, however, were more or less known to me, however, the subsections each type had was something new that I came to know about.
The knowledge I gathered from the in depth details of the types and their way of functioning, made me understand their usage in real live business situations, which previously was a difficult to understand matter for me as I only possessed the academic knowledge, which was not presented in the way business organisations use them.
