Application Assignment 2: Infographic Infographics are visual representations of information, data, or knowledge and in this course are used to demonstrate that you can apply the information you learned in the class. To create an infographic for this course, you must: 1) Select one of the specific topics we cover in Module 2: patterns of victimization (select one specific crime), fear of crime, sexual victimization, intimate partner violence victimization, stalking victimization, patterns of offending (select one specific crime), the context of women and girls’ offending for specific crimes (select one), or incarcerating, punishing, and “treating” (select one). 2) Create a 1-page infographic on the topic. The infographic must include: a. An informative title b. A definition of your topic c. Prevalence rates on the gender distribution of your topic (you must look up information from a reliable source other than the lectures AND cite the source in APA format on the graphic. Reliable sources include academic articles and generally .gov, .edu, and .org websites. If you have questions about the reliability of your source, please check in with me before starting) d. An explanation of why your topic is important e. At least one data visual (if using a pre-made graphic, you must cite the source either directly under the image or in an endnote under the heading “Image sources” 3) You may use Piktochart (or other online resource), Word, Powerpoint, or Publisher to create the infographic. It can be submitted as a .png, .jpeg, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, or .pdf in Blackboard 4) The first draft of this assignment is due on Thursday, March 31, at 11:59 pm.
