Introduction
The internet is one of the most important elements of modern schooling today. Because to the internet, education has become more accessible and widespread than ever before. Cyberspace is increasingly being used for classroom activities and student experiences, including, sadly, bullying. The internet has been a boon for students, parents and teachers alike. But some people use it for evil purposes. It's no coincidence that cyberbullying has been around since the inception of the internet.
Cyberbullying
Criminal charges can be brought against someone who engages in digital abuse, online harassment, cyberbullying or in some circumstances (specially location of the victim and the abuser). There are several countries and states that are taking a step in drafting new legislative measures or revising current rules to include abuse and harassment occurring through internet and despite the fact that it can be hard to take action legally for some types of bullying and abuse online[footnoteRef:1]. Cyberbullying Laws
Anti-bullying measures and regulations have been passed at different levels of government in recent years.
State law: To combat cyberbullying and harassment through electronic communications, almost every state has revised and established state laws and legislation. Laws have been enacted to combat cyberbullying and online abuse, with some requiring proof of 'ongoing harassment'[footnoteRef:2]. [2: Myers, C. A., & Cowie, H. (2019).
