Description of the Day-to-Day Operations in the Form of the "Input-Process-Output" Cycle:
The patient who requires medical attention serves as the input for the medical-surgical unit. An evaluation of the patient's medical condition, including vital signs, a medical history, and a physical examination, is done by the registered nurse as soon as the patient is admitted. The nurse enters the data in the electronic medical record, which is the main means of communication for the medical staff.
