Medicare and Medicaid are healthca
re coverage which is provided to the American citizen. However, both coverages operate in different ways and work on different types of demographics. In California, Medicare provides health coverage for citizens who are 65 years and more age. Medicare will provide coverage when they suffer from severe disability in spite of income. The Medicaid program, which is run by the California state, is called Medi-Cal. The Medi-Cal program is funded by the Medicaid program (Kline et al., 2017). They provide health coverage for the families who have a lower income, for pregnant women and for bling individuals. Medicare has four parts that cover different packages.
Medicare part A covers inpatient hospital and nursing facility. Part B covers doctors visits, outpatient care and medical supplies. Part A and B are deducted from social security payments. While the Medicare Advantage Plan is covered by the Part C of the Medicare that is provided to the private insurer and part D covers service plan, medical cost plans, medical savings and the premiums can be subsidized through the federal government (Alfero et al., 2016).
